„The Prophet's Dance“ (Release: November 30, 2023 aus dem gleichnamigen Album)
„The Prophet's Dance" ist sicherlich der außergewöhnlichste Song des Albums und nicht umsonst der Titel des Albums. Für mich strahlt „The Prophet's Dance" einen besonderen, übersinnlichen Zauber aus. Die 🐳 Wale singen, spielen und tanzen mit uns in der Tiefe des Meeres. Es ist ein mystisches Erlebnis im Element Wasser, aus dem alles Leben entspringt.
Der Song nimmt die Perspektive eines Wales ein, der zum Propheten wird und etwas in uns Verborgenes sieht, ein Leben unterhalb der Oberfläche. Im Kern geht es im Song um die prophetische Aufforderung zur Umkehr. Der Song hat Tiefgang, auch im wörtlichen Sinne.
Das filigrane COVER von Thomas Ewerhard Artwork ist wundervoll und ein echter Hingucker.. Das LYRICVIDEO von Andy Pilkington | Very Metal Art übertrifft all meine Erwartungen und visualisiert perfekt den Spirit des Albums. Die Grenzen zwischen Traum und Wirklichkeit verwischen in einer mystischen Atmosphäre.

„Calling For You“ (Release: Oktober 10, 2023 aus dem Album „The Prophet's Dance“)
Der Song handelt von der Sehnsucht nach jemandem, der Verantwortung übernimmt.
Er beginnt damit, dass ein Mensch aus einem Albtraum erwacht und nach seinem Präsidenten ruft. Er bittet darum, ihm zu antworten - aber es ist niemand da. Am Ende sind es, wie so oft, du und ich, auf die es ankommt.
Der Song endet ruhig und in einer Atmosphäre, die voller Vertrauen und gegenseitigem Respekt, ganz ohne Härte ist.

"Manner Of Travelling" (Release: August 17, 2023 aus dem Album „The Prophet's Dance“)
Inspiriert wurde ich zu dem Song durch ein Poster, welches ich auf einem Foto im Fotoalbum wiederentdeckte. Dort stand „Happiness is not a station you arrive at but a manner of travelling”. Der Songtitel war geboren.
Obwohl es in der Geschichte der Menschheit noch nie soviel Innovationen gab das Leben zu erleichtern, haben viele das Gefühl immer getriebener zu sein.
Die Textpassage im Song „The world is spinning faster and faster... we`ll be thrown out of our orbit” bringt dieses Gefühl für mich gut zum Ausdruck.
Der Song thematisiert die Kunst der Verlangsamung und den Einfluss der Gedanken und inneren Einstellung auf unser Gefühlsleben und letztlich das Glücklichsein.
Der Song nimmt dennoch Tempo und das Video im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes Fahrt auf. Letztlich geht es darum den persönlichen Lebensrhythmus und sein Glücks-Lebenstempo zu leben. Zu gegebener Zeit kann dies, wie bei einem spannenden Song, Rhythmus- und Tempowechsel einschliessen.

„Around The Lake“ (Release: Oktober 10, 2023 aus dem Album „The Prophet's Dance“)
Around The Lake ist ein sehr persönlicher und nostalgischer Song. Mein Vater verstarb plötzlich mit 47 Jahren, als ich 18 Jahre alt war. Ich konnte mich nicht von ihm verabschieden und habe mein Leben ohne ihn weitergelebt.
Meine Erinnerung an ihn ist, dass wir beide häufiger zusammen um einen See in meiner Heimat spazieren gingen und hierbei Gespräche führten, die mich u. a. auf das Leben als Erwachsener vorbereiteten. Ich merkte irgendwann, dass ich diese Gespräche vermisse und dass sie mir in der damaligen Zeit Halt gaben. Im Laufe meines Lebens holten mich die Erinnerungen ein und es kam die Sehnsucht auf, nochmal mit ihm um den See zu gehen.
Die Videoproduktion zu "Around The Lake" mit verschiedenen Zeitebenen und Rückblenden war für mich sehr emotional. Eine besondere Herausforderung war es, einen Schauspieler zu gewinnen, der meinen Vater spielt und einen jungen Mann, der mich im Alter von etwa 18 Jahren spielt.
Ein sehr bewegender Moment war, als mein Vater nach einem imaginären Auftritt in der Jetztzeit auf die Bühne kommt, mir die Hand auf die Schulter legt und wir uns wieder unterhalten. Er fragt mich, wie denn mein Leben so verlaufen ist und ich frage ihn, wo er denn die ganze Zeit gewesen ist.
Es gibt einen schöne Metapher im Song „and I see only your footsteps in the sand“ in Anlehnung an ein spirituelles Gedicht. Ich gehe mit meinem Vater auf Sand spazieren, sehe aber nur zwei Fußspuren im Sand, die jedoch seine sind, weil er mich trägt.
Der mollige, balladeske Refrain des Songs endet auf einem Dur-Akkord. Für mich wird eine gewisse Traurigkeit über den Verlust letztlich von einem positiven Gefühl abgelöst. Am Ende stehen Dankbarkeit und Zuversicht.
Das Video-Team von 80 White hat auch diesen Song, der mir sehr viel bedeutet, perfekt in Szene gesetzt.
